Stud Signing Ceremony Commemorates New Chapel, New Services at Pacific Springs

Our non-profit mission means we’re continuously improving and reinventing retirement living for residents. Despite a global pandemic, we’re on-schedule creating new senior living services and innovative spaces at west Omaha’s Pacific Springs. While construction began this spring on renovations that would bring additional assisted living apartments, memory support, onsite restaurants, a chapel and more to the campus, we celebrated this fall with a stud signing ceremony in dedication of residents past and present.

Residents took turns signing a commemorative stud, writing well wishes and remembering those who have past on. The beam was placed in the new chapel through a virtual ceremony that included words of congratulations from Immanuel leadership, including Immanuel president, Eric Gurley. Renovation plans at Pacific Springs involve adding the community’s first memory support neighborhood with 12 apartments offering compassionate programming and support to those with Alzhiemer’s and dementia. A new assisted living neighborhood will also add 11 apartments to the community’s existing bustling assisted living programs. Additional spaces and amenities include:

  • New north entrance and parking lot
  • Lobby and lounge area
  • Chapel with resident-donated, locally-designed stained glass windows
  • Onsite restaurant with golf/sports simulator
  • Outdoor dining spaces
  • Thrive by Immanuel Fitness Center and Wellness Studio
  • Art gallery
  • The Market - where residents and their guests can find a pre-packaged quick bite or snack and find convenient essentials.

The new memory care apartments join Immanuel’s existing memory care communities with the latest in compassionate programming supporting those with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The memory support neighborhood includes plans for an outdoor courtyard, complete with covered porch and areas for art and music activities.

Immanuel’s newest life enrichment programming is leading the way for these and other changes. Thrive by Immanuel, focuses on wellness of the whole person - mind, body and spirit. Education courses, social engagement, spiritual support and wellness are all incorporated through nine Thrive principles like music, lifelong learning, connection and more.

Many services and amenities are scheduled to open fall of 2021, with final construction complete in winter 2022.
