Yankee Hill Village Recognized with National Quality Award

Yankee Hill Village has much to celebrate. In addition to wonderful residents and amazing staff, the Immanuel community in Lincoln, Nebraska, is known for its skilled advancements in retirement living and compassionate approach to senior care.

Because of its achievements, Yankee Hill Village has been recognized as a 2023 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award recipient by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.

The award is the second of three distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, which recognizes organizations that meet progressively rigorous standards of performance to further improve the lives of residents and staff in long-term care and assisted living providers.

“We are delighted to honor Yankee Hill Village for being recognized at the Silver Award level,” said Cathy Bergland, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board Chair. “This recognition is a testament to their unwavering efforts in enhancing the lives of those entrusted to their care. Congratulations to the entire team at Yankee Hill Village for their outstanding achievement. Keep striving for excellence.”

Yankee Hill Village Executive Director Melissa Ryan said the community’s staff consistently strives to provide the highest quality of service.

“Receiving the Silver Award reflects the hours of continuous dedication to learning and improving our processes and procedures,” Ryan said. “Our team has shown a level of commitment to our residents that is amazing. Compassion and integrity guide our interactions each day. We celebrate alongside our residents as we embrace the joys of community together.”

The National Quality Award Program has three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. At the Silver level, recipients have met the criteria for the Bronze award and move on to evaluate and improve their processes, creating a systematic approach for all aspects of the organization that leads to positive outcomes and success. Trained examiners review each application to determine if the center has met the demands of the criteria. Silver recipients can now move on to the program's final and most prestigious level, the Gold – Excellence in Quality award.

Data shows Silver and Gold awarded providers outperform the rest of the nation. With independent retirement living, assisted living, and memory support/Alzheimer’s and dementia care available, Yankee Hill Village can support residents’ ongoing needs as they arise. With state-of-the-art equipment and aging health experts, Yankee Hill Village offers enriching planned social activities, including music, wellness, connections, faith, recreation, community, creativity, service, and lifelong learning.

Immanuel Vice President of Clinical Operations Dr. Devin Fox, M.D., said that Yankee Hill Village received the Silver Quality Award speaks to their commitment to Immanuel’s mission and service.

“It is an honor to be recognized for this award as it demonstrates their role and focus on continuous improvement with quality of care outcomes,” Fox said. “And not only is it a terrific accomplishment, but so impressive to receive the award on the first attempt!”

The award was presented during Delivering Solutions 23, the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo, October 1-4, 2023, in Denver, Colorado.
